Built in 1928, the Russell Library at Georgia College & State University needed to expand. The university’s goals were to restore the original library, completely renovate the 1965 addition, and create a new addition of 93,000 square feet, more than tripling the library’s size. I served as the Project Architect for Cogdell & Mendrala Architects on this project. Features now include a 24-hour gathering and study zone with a cyber-cafe, a graduate-student study lounge, group-study rooms, electronic classrooms, and additional reference areas.
