John Jacobs is principal of John R. Jacobs, Architect. John has extensive experience as a Project Architect and Designer on residential and commercial facilities. He received his B.Arch. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and is licensed in Illinois and elsewhere. John is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). John has served on the Evanston Art’s Center Board and the City of Evanston Preservation Commission.
John grew up in Oak Park, Illinois, surrounded by influential examples of classic American architecture including the Prairie-style masterpieces of Frank Lloyd Wright. In college, he was influenced by the philosophies of modernism and Mies van der Rohe. In his work experiences after college, he has worked on a variety of residential, commercial, educational, and healthcare projects. Several of his projects have been on the North Shore of Chicago, including award-winning renovations and additions to historic homes.
With a studio based in Evanston, Illinois, John works with clients throughout Chicago and the North Shore, including Wilmette, Kenilworth, Glenview, Winnetka, Northbrook, Glencoe, Highland Park, and Lake Forest.
